FALL: Italian II(A)
Monday & Wednesday | 7:30pm – 8:45pm | Sep. 4th – Nov. 20th
*Includes Saturday Cafes*
This course begins with a review of the main points of what is taught in the Italian I (A) and (B) sequence. Students enrolling in Italian II (A) can expect to build upon their knowledge and to move on to more complex tenses and grammatical structures. Throughout twelve weeks, students will learn vocabulary regarding the family, personal relationships, and cooking. While implementing their growing knowledge of vocabulary, they will begin to master Italian grammatical structures such comparing two or more objects by using the comparativo and superlativo, describe their daily routines using reflexive verbs and adverbs, and express completed past actions using the Italian compound past tense, the passato prossimo. Throughout the course, students will enrich their knowledge of vocabulary themes and grammar topics through exercises with the trailer for the film Mine vaganti (Ferzan Ozpetek, 2010).
